At 17, the Roseau High School senior wasn't expecting any honors. He's a straight shooter who gets the job done and has fun, too.

But one unexpected honor caught him completely by surprise.

A few weeks ago, he was notified that he had been chosen as "Beck's Player with Heart," a football award.

He didn't win anything, but he is getting the recognition for being a hard worker in football and in his other pursuits.

The Badger area resident, the son of Brian and Shelly Walsh, has attended the Roseau School District since preschool.

It's a nice honor.
