As the saying goes, everything is local, which means that people are already concerned about rising gas prices.

Once, a can of Copenhagen was two bits (25 cents a can) in 1965. I was working at Asbury Methodist Hospital on 916 East 15th Street in Minneapolis as an orderly. I had about seven patients to assist and some even to feed, or empty their urinals and bedpans.

One of the gents, around 80, whispered one morning that he really hankered for a pinch of snus.

At lunchtime, I ran a couple of blocks to a grocery store and bought him a can of Copenhagen.

Just for the record, 25 cents in 1965 ha...
