We are looking, these next few weeks at "Themes of Lent". Reflections on the "Cross Side of Easter." Events leading up to our Lord's sacrificial death on the Cross for our sins. In the Gospels we often find Jesus in the middle of things. Last week we found him between a sinful woman and a pious Pharisee. In this week's text we find him between the disciples and the Devil. Now I can't think of a person I'd rather have between myself and the Devil than Jesus! Someone has said, "When the Devil knocks, send Jesus to the door." Good advice!
