Northborn™ Days | June 10-11 | Event Line Up and What You Need to Know

 


We are on the final article of our six-part series about the upcoming Northborn Days event! Over the past five weeks, we shared in detail about the Northborn Birthday Party, Northborn Talent Competition, Northborn Music Festival, and the other activities that will be on site during the event. If you have missed any of these articles, this article will recap all the important highlights to be aware of for the event next weekend!

FRIDAY

2-7 p.m.: COMMUNITY PICNIC

Enjoy a delicious free-will offering meal complete with ice cream and free cotton candy!

2-6 p.m.: NORTHBORN BIRTHDAY PARTY

Children are invited to visit activity stations throughout the park, watch a children’s entertainer from the stage of Medora, participate in water games and foot races, and take to the stage for a line dance finale.

2 p.m.: Misti-fied by Misti Koop

3 p.m.: Water Games

4 p.m.: Foot Races with Medal Ceremony to follow

5 p.m: Misti-fied by Misti Koop

5:45 p.m.: Children’s Line Dance

6:00 p.m.: NORTHBORN TALENT COMPETITION

Featuring the vocal talent of northwest Minnesota on the amphitheater stage, this competition will include two age divisions with a short intermission in between. The members of Nashville band Johnny Cochran will serve as Celebrity Guest Judges and award $1800 in prize monies to the top three performers in each division

9:00 p.m.: MOVIE IN THE PARK

To close out the night, a movie will be shown with concessions available for purchase. To learn more about the movie, visit our website!

What You Need to Know

• Friday’s events are offered free of charge. You can choose to submit a free-will offering toward the community picnic and purchase concessions if desired

• Children are encouraged to dress in accordance with the cowboy theme of the party

• Participants in Water Games will get wet, so swimwear or a change of clothing may be beneficial

• Participants finishing in first, second, or third place in the foot races will be called up to take the podium in the medal ceremony following the races

• Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chair or blanket to use while watching the children’s entertainer, talent competition, and movie

• The movie will begin at dusk, when the image on the screen is visible, this will begin approximately at 9 pm

• When the sun goes down it can get chilly, so bring another layer to enjoy the movie comfortably. Mosquitos often enjoy the movie as well, so make sure to bring bug spray

SATURDAY

12-10 p.m: NORTHBORN MUSIC FESTIVAL

Four bands of various genres will take to the stage at Allison Park throughout the day

12 p.m.: Good Morning Bedlam (Bluegrass/Folk)

2:15 p.m.: Johnny Cochran (Country Pop)

5 p.m.: Church of Cash (Johnny Cash Tribute Band)

8 p.m.: The 4ontheFloor (Rock ‘n’ Roll)

Yard games will be set out, yoga will be offered at 1:30 and 4:15, and Folk School Warroad will be on site with a Japanese braiding craft

12-10 p.m.: BEER GARDENS AND FOOD TRUCKS

Beer and seltzers will be offered along with root beer, lemonade, and bottled water. Food trucks on site include Bjerk Concessions, For Crepes Sake, Wallace’s Kettle Corn, Sara Lucek’s Foods LLC, and Wahoo Waffles

12-7 p.m.: ACTIVITY WRISTBAND ATTRACTIONS

For $10, an activity wristband can be purchased to access the following attractions:

• Gyroscope 2-person ride

• Mechanical bull

• Human Hungry, Hungry Hippos Game

• Basketball, Soccer and Skeeball-themed Games

• 9-hole mini golf course

• Bounce house

• Caricaturist (available until 6 p.m.)

12-2:30 p.m.: TEEN CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT

Open to ages 12-18, $10 entry per person ($20 per team) with 100% payout to winners

3-8 p.m.: ADULT CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT

Open to ages 18+, $20 entry per person ($40 per team) with 100% payout to winners

What You Need to Know

• Admission is required to attend Saturday’s events. Adult tickets are $20 at the door, or $15 if purchased in advance by Wednesday, June 8th through the website or at Doug’s Supermarket and Farmers Union in Warroad, or the Holiday Stationstores in Roseau and Baudette. Children 17 and under enter the event FREE.

• Live music, yard games, yoga, and Folk School craft are included in your admission. Other activities and offerings available at an additional charge include:

Activity Wristbands

• Activity wristbands are open to all ages, though some attractions may have a specific height or weight limit. Youth who volunteer at least 2 hours at the Northborn Days event are eligible to receive a complimentary Activity Wristband

• Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chair or blanket to use

• When the sun goes down it can get chilly, so bring another layer to enjoy the end of the night comfortably. Mosquitos often come out at night, so make sure to bring bug spray

Northborn Days will be held rain or shine on June 10-11 at Allison Park in Warroad. Parking is available in the Warroad Community Church parking lot, the south section of the Warroad Community Center parking lot, in the lot alongside the city office on Main Ave, and on the streets surrounding the venue.
