Lake of the Woods Water Level Near Record Breaking High

Residents and businesses along the shores of Lake of the Woods are being impacted by high water levels that are eroding the shoreline and creeping up to buildings. Water flowing into Lake of the Woods is nearly double the maximum outflow that is being released through the fully opened dams in Kenora. With 8,000 ft. of water per second coming in from Rainy River and only 5,000 ft. per second going out, Lake of the Woods is slowly rising.
