Warroad- Evelyn Nelvina was born October 26, 1927 to Elmer and Janet Ellen (Buchan) Brandli, in their home in Clearriver Township, south of Warroad. Evelyn was the 10th of 11 children. Love of family, appreciation of hard work and the gift of hospitality were nurtured in her childhood experiences. Evelyn's lifelong love of learning began in the one room Lee Lewis country school. She then attended the boarding school, Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston.
