Louisville, Ky.- John Dahlgren was born on September 11, 1925 in Roseau. John was the only son of Ingeborg (Larson) and Nels Dahlgren and extremely proud of his Swedish heritage. The Larson and Dahlgren families have a long history in the region and homesteaded Roseau County in 1893 and 1883 respectively. John grew up in Roseau, attended Roseau High and was a member of the men's basketball team that was stranded in the historic blizzard of March 15, 1941.
