This Little Foster Grandparent Is Making a Big Difference

Joyce Hulst began volunteering as a foster grandparent in the Roseau Elementary School in 2008.

It was almost 12 years later when Covid put a halt to her dedication in kindergarten classrooms.

"Last year, they put the program back in," she said, adding that she will be 80 in November.

She's still a spring chicken to those little kindergartners.

"I got a call from Jean Halvorson just wondering if I was interested in doing it and so I thought I would try it," she said about her decision then to become a foster grandparent.
