RHS Field Trip Was A Valuable Learning Experience

"It was beautiful out," said Leif Eidsmoe, the RHS biology instructor who led the annual field trip to the Roseau School Forest north of Salol on Wednesday, September 28.

It's usually held about this time in late September.

"We try to stay out of October because it's too cold, and we try to stay out of the beginning of September because the bugs are too bad."

In some ways, this might have been the most unusual field trip.

"We had at least five students, all boys, get poison ivy," he said, unsure of what parts of their bodies were affected.

He was concerned about their discomfo...
