Roseau- Warren James Hagen was born in Roseau, on September 24, 1948, to Arlyn and Thelma (Dahlgren) Hagen. He graduated from Roseau High School in 1966 and attended Bemidji State University. In 1969, Warren was drafted into the US Army. He married his high school sweetheart, Marsha Kvarnlov, on July 5, 1969. Following his training in Augusta, Georgia, Warren and Marsha were transferred to S.H.A.P.E. Headquarters in Mons, Belgium. They lived in Belgium until their first daughter, Paula, was born in 1972.
