I lost a quiet hero this past weekend.

We all did.

Everyone who caught his smile, observed his class, witnessed his decency, learned from his humility, and shared in his humanity will never forget Warren Hagen, 74.

We just briefly crossed paths on Sunday in mid-October.

He looked great, he was smiling, and I should have hugged him.

He was truly remarkable.

Very few of us can attain that status.

He was a role model for everyone.

Start with this.

Almost all of us bitch at times.

I never once heard him complain, and he certainly had a right to.

As did his loving and remarkable wife, Marsha.
