Celebrate the Season in Roseau

November 26, 2022

by Jodi Wojciechowski

The Holiday Season is underway in Roseau. The Christmas lights are going up around town and a lot of holiday events are happening.

Christmas Ornament Drive

Kecia Stroot wants to make Christmas a little brighter for local residents. She is seeking donations to enable her to put together Christmas gift bags for all the residents at Roseau Manor!

Each donation of $10 will allow a resident to receive a gift bag, which includes a beautiful fair-trade hand painted paper mache ornament of a songbird and an ornament holder to display it!

Please join her in sponsoring gifts for the local residents. At the time of writing this article, she has already received enough donations to provide gift bags for Roseau Manor and is moving on to all the assisted living facilities.

Once this is completed, she will continue expanding on to other places as well.

If you would like to help, please send a donation to: Kecia Stroot, 41085 State Highway 11, Roseau, MN 56751

There will be singing and playing of instruments in the chapel each night, as well. They are still looking for more volunteers for this festivity. Contact Sinnomon Krings at 218-242-1315 if you would like to volunteer.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be visiting each night. They will have a horse-drawn carriage that will take you through the Pioneer Farm and Village. You can also bring your Letters to Santa to the Nights of Lights and mail them from their special North Pole Post Office.

The volunteers will take special care of them each night and make sure they get delivered to Santa.

The Gift of Giving

The Roseau Public Library will host this program again this year in coordination with their many great volunteers. The Gift of Giving will be held December 5.🎄

The Gift of Giving is a shopping event created for young community members to pick out and purchase gifts for their loved ones.

This program relies solely on donations to be a success. Donations are being accepted now through December 3 at the Roseau Public Library.

• Any new or gently used item that the young community members would purchase for their mom, dad, grandparent, aunt, uncle, sister, brother, teacher, friend or loved one will be accepted.

• No clothing or shoes as these items tend to be hard to size for specific people.

• They are also looking for donations of wrapping paper, gift bags, tissue paper, name tags, bows and tape to complete the giving experience.

If you have some extra time and would like to volunteer, they would love to have you! They will need help with set-up, gift wrapping, helping the children shop, and clean-up.

🤔Any questions, please contact the Roseau Public Library at 218-463-2825.
