Chris Barnes, the Roseau High School band director, is both a teacher and a coach.
When you win, which he does often, he wants to credit his players.
Just recently ten of his band members were selected for a very special assignment.
First, of course, came practicing individually.
"The students essentially had to agree to prepare for this audition, and I said, 'Hey, do you want to do a UND Honor Band audition?' Some of them did and others didn't."
Mr. Barnes could understand why some band members were not all in on the offer.
