Ronnings opened their new location in Roseau on November 24, Black Friday, in time for holiday shopping.
Winners of the November 30th Holiday Fantasy drawing were Les Cole, Marti Monsrud, Marian Smits and Virginia Lian.
Asmus Tax and Accounting was now located in the Vatnsdal Professional Building in Roseau.
At the Alfred Olson Memorial Wrestling Tournament in Fosston Roseau wrestlers, Riley Eidsmoe and Chandler Mooney won individual titles.
The Blazing Stars Skating School of Roseau area was well represented with 19 skaters at the Holiday Classic Compete USA Competition held in Grand Forks.

The Ace Titans Relay for Life team (Ace Hardware of Roseau) was hosting a Zumba Fundraiser at Gene’s Sports Bar and Grill. Serena Gregerson and Irene Lisell were co-chairs of this event.
Don Byfuglien, 53, suffered a fatal head injury when he was ejected from the Ranger he was driving after colliding with another vehicle on Highway 11 in Roseau at the intersection north of Ace Hardware.
Gloria Ayuck, NP, joined the family medicine team at Altru Clinic in Roseau.
Eunice Otto and Jon Larson were $100 Roseau Dough winners in the Roseau Holiday Fantasy drawing.
Christine (nee Lundbohm) Reese was the new Roseau High School Health and Phy. Ed. teacher.
The Roseau Lady Rams hockey team defeated the East Grand Forks Greenwave 5-2. Roseau goals were scored by Emily Skoglund, Sarina Goos (2), Michaela Dahl and Bethany Tangen.
The Rams Boys Basketball team started their season with a 65-22 win over Lake of the Woods. Lead scorers were Bailey Sampson-10, Ethan Borgen-9, Ethan Johnson-13, Jacob Eaton-10 and Tayler Johnston-10.

Roseau’s second annual Frostbite 250 Pledge Ride for Multiple Sclerosis was to be held on January 3.
Katie Baumgartner, daughter of Craig and Monica Baumgartner of Roseau, was the grand prize winner at the third anniversary of Mike’s Snyder Drug.
Oline Erickson was celebrating her 90th birthday with an open house on December 13 at Badger’s new Community Center.
Arne and Luella Erickson were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on December 21 at the Four Seasons Center.
The Roseau Ram hockey team overcame penalties for an overtime win over Thief River Falls by the score of 4-3. Scoring for Roseau were David Klema, David Lundbohm (2) and Phil Larson.
Christina Marie Otto, infant daughter of Tim and Judy, was Roseau Area Hospital’s first December birth on 1997. Christina was born on December 1 at 4:48 a.m.
Scott Severson was the new loan officer at Border State Bank in Roseau.
Tracy Wayne Dunham and Lynn Marie Horras, both of Roseau, applied for a marriage license.
40 years ago – Dec. 8, 1982
The first December baby to leave the Roseau Area Hospital clad in a red Christmas stocking, was Lori Janelle Dunham, born December 1 to Mr. and Mrs. Ed Dunham of Wannaska. She was joined at home by five brothers and a sister; Grady, Jed, Ryan, Jesse, Merrilee and Erik.
Ian Roadfeldt and Michael Lundbohm of Roseau were among Master Point winners at the 1982 Fall North American Championship of the American Contract Bridge League at Minneapolis.
Kathy Pelowski of Roseau was a member of the University of North Dakota Jazz Choir.
Loren Johnson of Salol, a student at the University of North Dakota, was a member of the university’s men’s chorus, the Varsity Bands.
50 years ago – Dec. 7, 1972
The last current production machine rolled off the snowmobile manufacturing lines at Polaris when the production payroll was cut back until the next season, expected to begin in March. The final machine of the season was a competition machine, a Starfire 294.
Members of the Roseau “A” squad wrestling Rams were Craig Muirhead, Rocky Vatnsdal, Andy Row, Dale Jaenicke, Bryan Kenner, Jeff Przekwas, Robert Hedlund, Lyle Kenner, Marlin Olson, Greg Halvorson and Tom Derry.
Bob Eastman captured a first, second and third places in opening snowmobile races at West Yellowstone.
The four beauty operators at Bobby’s Beauty Salon were Norma Weiler, Marcia Bye, Jan Rinde and Shirley Meek.
An open house honoring Mr. and Mrs. Lester Mitterling on their 25th wedding anniversary was to be held on December 10 at Bethel Lutheran Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Allan Halvorson are the parents of a baby girl born December 1 and named Michelle Ann. She was welcomed home by brothers, Larry and Dale.
75 years ago – Dec. 4, 1947
J.A. Helgeson was accidentally wounded in the left thigh while hunting big game with a group of friends in the area between South Junction and Vassar, Manitoba. He was following a buck and other hunters had seen the deer and a shot was fired at it which hit Mr. Helgeson in the thigh and exited without damaging the bone or big blood vessels.
Jadis pioneers Mr. and Mrs. Hans Sonsteng celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Thanksgiving Day at their home in Falun.
A fine new two-manual Wurlitzer organ was installed and dedicated at the First Lutheran Church in Roseau.

Rudolph Theodore Adolph Meyer died at the Budd Hospital after an illness of one week. He was a resident of Roseau.
Lars Lundemo of Spruce left for New York and was to sail from there to his parents home in Skjaak, Gudbrandsdalen, Norway for a visit.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hetteen of Malung announced the birth of a son on November 25.
