"You need a haircut," she said. I looked in the mirror and what I saw made it impossible to argue with her.

"I don't have time to get a haircut" was my best comeback. So I got in my van and drove to the building material store.

A nice young man with a head full of dreadlocks waited on me. "I like your hair," I said to him. Then, rubbing the thinning area (bald spot) on top of my head, I said, "If you ever decide to get rid of some of those dreads, I'd be happy to take them." We shared a good laugh about that.
