Say this for the gentleman who stepped forward to help out on a temporary basis.

He went the extra miles.

Scott Johnson recently served six months as the District 1 Roseau County Commissioner following Commissioner John Horner's unexpected death.

Was it hard time?

"No, but I'm glad it's over," he said with a big laugh.

"Like I told them today (at his final board meeting on December 27), I was very grateful that they gave me the opportunity to finish out John's term. He was a good friend, and I was proud and honored to serve."
