Expectations

Taking this column back to real life tween parenting. There is nothing worse than having a child that you feel you cannot console. The tears do not stop. You see the disappointment in themselves pouring down their face. You only wish you could let them see themselves through your eyes. The way you really see them. Not the great expectations they feel you have from them. Knowing you may have played a part in the tears that make them not hear you are proud of their failures as much as you are their successes.
