Flying Things

I was surprised the kite flying festival on the beach wasn't canceled due to high winds coming across the Gulf of Mexico. Of course, I know it takes wind to fly a kite, but these were very strong. There are two things I don't like about going to the beach: getting sand inside my sandals and sand blowing in my eyes. So we opted not to attend. Even though we didn't go to the beach, we still saw the kites flying.

Kites of every imaginable shape in various colors flew high above the building tops. We enjoyed watching the fliers performing multiple stunts. Some kites seemed to be dog-fighting, chas...
