It's been a long run, more than 35 years and at least several thousand interview subjects while writing features and this column.
In many articles, I interviewed multiple sources.
It was great fun until people got so serious, angry, political and far too involved in their kids' endeavors.
I didn't want my mother snooping anywhere near my school.
She might start asking questions like, "Does he ever hand in his assignments? Ever catch him cheating?"
My dad, F.R. "Bob" Olsen, would be 123 this year.
He never attended school board meetings and very few school athletic events.
