On May 9, 2023, an officer with the Roseau Police Department was in the area of 3rd Ave SW and 10th St SW in the City of Roseau. He witnessed a black vehicle parked in the middle of the roadway.

While the officer was watching the vehicle, a male was seen running towards it with several bags. The male entered the passenger side of the vehicle. The vehicle drove away at what appeared to be a high rate of speed.

Shortly after the male entered the vehicle, a female was seen chasing after the vehicle on foot as it was speeding away. The officer approached the female who was on the side of the road.

This individual had stated to the officer that she was just assaulted by the male who had entered the vehicle that was speeding away.

The officer then turned on his lights and siren and proceeded after the vehicle.

As the officer was catching up to the vehicle, several bags were tossed out. The officer continued to follow the vehicle, which later stopped several blocks from where the incident started.

The officer initiated a felony stop on the vehicle, after which Brandon Tyrone Hamilton and Shatoya Shanea Troup were taken into custody.

While searching the vehicle, the officer was able to locate a handgun suspected to be used in the initial assault.

These bags contained 67.3 grams of cocaine, 72 individual doses of methamphetamine, 894 grams of marijuana, 178 pills that were identified as acetaminophen and hydrocodone bitartrate, along with several scales and baggies.
