Veterans Day in Roseau is a resounding success

They are no longer young but are young of heart, these mostly aging veterans of long ago military service when they could march sharply and run double-time in the spring of their youth.

Chris Johnson was spotted inside the school. He is a draftee who served in the Army from 1969-1972.

"I spent two extra months over in Vietnam."

Get wounded over there?

"I got a few holes."

His MOS was 61 Echo 40.

"I was in charge of amphibs and served with the 97th Heavy Bolt. We were up and down the rivers. I was up in I-Corps right next to North Vietnam."
