Reflections from Roseau's 2024 Memorial Day Program

It was the perfect day outdoors to hold the 2024 Memorial Day program in Roseau.

There was off and on drizzle, and it might have been uncomfortable being cold and damp like many of those who were among the 56 war dead being honored this past Monday.

Retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Val Bernat, the officer in charge (OIC), nixed that idea.

It was the right choice.

The program was held at the Roseau City Center.

Right inside the double-door entry were three American Legion Auxiliary gals handing out poppies.

They brought sunshine into the building with their smiles.
