Warroad Native Runs For Congress

Dr. Shawn Tweten, a 1999 graduate of Warroad High School, is running for Congress in the 1st U.S. Congressional District that covers the entire southern border of Minnesota, to include Mankato and Rochester. He’s running in the Republican primary to unseat the current sitting Republican Congressman, Brad Finstad, who has held the seat since 2022. It is the same district in which Governor Walz (D) was a congressman before he became Governor. Governor Walz was a public high school teacher in Mankato where Shawn has also taught in the past as a substitute teacher.
