Alexie Horner, 23, got her first and only horse, Nova, at the age of 14.
“It took three years of constantly begging my parents for a horse before I got Nova,” explains Alexie. “She’s a sorrel quarter horse and the horse I used for 4-H. I rode Nova when I was on the drill team. I still have Nova.
“When I went to a 4-H summer camp back then, one of the classes was learning drill team riding to music. I loved it! When I came home, I presented the idea of a Roseau County horse drill team at the yearly 4-H meeting.”
