In late July, Roseau High School junior Jasmine Hovda, 17, was notified that she was being invited to the 2024 USA Hockey Girls Under-18 Select Player Development Camp.

The venue was in Lake Placid, N.Y., from August 4-9, and it featured the top 76 female hockey players in the nation, ages 15 to 17.

They were competing for spots on the 25-player 2024 U.S. Under-18 Women's Select Team to play three games in St. Catherine's, Ontario, Canada, this past week.

That's right up Jasmine's alley.

Jas, as she is called, is the daughter of Tanner and Trudy Hovda.
