Sitting on the shelf

there is a book

bound by an invisible string.

Three names

etched on the cover long ago,

when we were just girls.

Inside, pages hold beautiful moments

in the verge of spilling out

but the bond is so strong-

16 years that could never be broken

One page, the background is a snowy night

the road ahead, empty

glued to the stars are the lyrics

of a country song

known by heart, felt in our souls,

Us, driving back home

a ring of joy curling through the moment

wrapping us in warmth

as we forget about the pages behin...
