If my heart was a house
You would find the door unlocked.
Walls lined with laughter,
Windows wide open,
Rooms filled with memories,
Where love cannot hide.
In the kitchen, a pot of honesty on a gentle simmer.
Tastes of joy and kindness that makes the soul glimmer.
The living room warm,
With comfort’s embrace.
Pictures of cherished moments,
Fill every space.
Up the stairs of desire to the realm of dreams,
Where every emotion streams.
The attic stores wishes, some yet to come true.
If my heart were a house, it would be free of doubt,
A place of safety where love roams about.
Within its walls, you would always belong.
In the heart’s house, is where I am strong.
