Kaia, 13, and Ashlynn, 12 the daughters of Jamie and Jessica Omdahl of Roseau are mountain bike enthusiasts. They finished first and second respectively in their age group in the Minnesota Mountain Bike Series.
Only Santa’s workshop is busier than John Harren and his crew at Northern Toboggan Company in their shop east of Warroad. John has been handcrafting toboggans since 1995.
Walk to Remember donated $10,000 each to Roseau Manor, Greenbush Manor and the Warroad Senior Living Center for dementia needs.
The Roseau Ram football team held their awards banquet and celebrated the four Ram senior players, Mattias Huglen, Cayden Loken, Danny Wensloff and Jace Hulst.

Bruce Hanson was the new deputy sheriff in Roseau County.
Bonnie Wensloff, Roseau Elementary music teacher, was named the Roseau Teacher of the Year.
Roseau Students of the Month for September/October were Colin Schumacher, Mia Krings, Rebecca Wensloff, Jaron Hulst, Avery Hedlund, Hannah Mooney, Mitchell Laznicka, Tyler Bjerk, Selina Skoglund, Kallie Byfuglien, Renata Novacek and Kara Borneman.
The 2014 Rams football awards winners at the end of the season banquet were Alec Severson, Riley Johnson, Joe Vatnsdal, Riley Stroot, Dan Halstensgard, Gabe Magnusson, Brandon Pfeiffer and Casey Warner.
25 years ago – Nov. 27, 1999
Seniors celebrating their November birthdays at the Four Seasons Senior Center were Margaret Johnson, Irene Miller, Petra Hanson, Melvin Hagen, Phyllis DeMolee, Marie Comstock, Floyd Olson, Margaret Eklund, Bonnie Pitblado, Clarence Eklund and Tommyetta Eklund.
Lund Furniture’s new building was now complete and filled with furniture.
Earl and Marjorie Robinson were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house on November 27 at the First Lutheran Church in Roseau.
Corinne Lunos, daughter of Helen and Leland Lunos of Roseau, was a member of the Moorhead State University’s Festival Women’s Choir.
Award winners at the Rams football year-end banquet were Jeradan Otto, Eric Fabian, Ryan Eberhardt, Nick Warne, Casey Thompson, Mike Sallberg, Aaron Degerness, Justin Oster, Will Leetch, Ryan Hooser and Nick Casavan.
Roseau High School students attending the National Youth Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. were Kristi Hager, Amanda Grafstrom and Angie Johnston.
40 years ago – Nov. 28, 1984
Amber Peterson, daughter of Rick and Paula Peterson was pictured on the front page of the paper admiring the community Christmas tree.
The production of 1985 Polaris snowmobiles has been completed and the snowmobiles are now in transport to distributors and dealers throughout the country.
Ann Sonsteng of Roseau was the lucky winner of $300 in Roseau Dough.
Walt Bradley, owner of Bradley Appliance, along with daughter Carol, owner of Carol’s Cedar Cellar, announced their grand opening of the new location for their businesses in Roseau. They are now located in the former Courtright building.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Snow of Roseau announced the engagement and forthcoming mariage of their daughter, Carla Jean, to Mark Philip Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Johnson of Roseau. An April wedding was being planned.
Winners of the door prizes at Honl’s Craft Shop’s open house were Karen Granitz, Sue Jennings, Donna Rose and Marion Solom.
Straight A students for the first quarter at Roseau High School were Mary McCabe, Graig Kveen, Pam Wold, Susan Wahlberg, Lisa Petrowski, Bryan Amundson, Nancy Geroy, Marty Espe and Tami Hedlund.
50 years ago –Nov. 28, 1974
The Roseau Lions Club became a truly “international” group when, along with four others, they initiated Jack Hebel of Sprague, Manitoba, Canada as a member. Others initiated were Milton Arneson of Ross and Bruce Gibson, Mylo Hallie and James Hart, all of Roseau.
Thirteen students from neighboring Sprague, Manitoba are being bussed to Roseau to take classes at Roseau High School and North Star Vocational Center School. They attend school in Roseau from 1-3 p.m.
Rita Ferraz from Brazil was attending school at Roseau High School and staying with the Leland Brandt family.
Mr. and Mrs. James Grugal of Pencer celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
Airman Keith D. Olson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orval K. Olson of Roseau, recently completed Air Force basic training.
John Harris was honored at the Minneapolis Athletic Club when he was chosen University of Minnesota Athlete of the Year.
The Puck Rams defeated Moorhead 3-2 and downed Bemidji 3-0 in Jamborees held in East Grand Forks. Goals by Roseau in the Moorhead game were scored by Craig Davidson, Keith Haugen and Kris Skrutvold and scoring against Bemidji were Bruce Olson, Neal Broten and Dave Grafstrom.
75 years ago – Dec. 1, 1949
A steady stream of people attended the grand opening of the Carlson Hudson Sales and Service and the Anchor Gas and Fuel Company as well as taking in the showing of the 1950 Pontiac on display at the Jackson Pontiac, Inc.
The Ross, Pinecreek, Duxby PTA set to work with volunteer labor, self-planed lumber, donated poles and lots of planning and enthusiasm and was constructing a real skating rink with warming house and probably lights in the near future.
Allan Magnusson was the new president of the Roseau 4-H Club. Doris Erickson was vice-president, and Marjorie Fugleberg was secretary.
Miss Marjorie Lofstedt and Earl Robinson were wed at First Lutheran Church in Roseau.
The Roseau basketball team came out on top of a 37-18 score against a likewise “out for blood” Badger Quintette.
Miss Helen Louise Hoskin and Paul R. Grand were married in a double ring ceremony in the Roseau Mission Covenant Church on Thanksgiving Day evening.
A wolf, thought to be a true Siberian wolf, was snared by Einar Lindgren north of Salol. The big wolf weighed near 100 pounds and was nearly six feet long. He was a near blue color with gray tips on his fur.
