Hockey

One hour before the game, music blaring, fans shivering from the cold

Thirty minutes before the game, tensions are high, players nervous, coaches quiver, fans getting louder, Game time, blades hit the ice, scraping and soaring, the sound of the puck drop, a crisp smack, the centers battle for possession, down the ice they go, as fast as they can, passing back and forth, goalies are ready, a shot from the slot, the buzzer blares, the crowd erupts, home team up 1-0.

Silent Lake 

By the quiet lake where dreams take flight 

Ripples dance was a gentle grace

As the sun's warm rays embrace 

The waters glare a sensation so sweet 

A place of silence, where hearts find retreat

Like the cabin’s deck, a place to unwind 

Where memories are made, hearts combine 

Echoes of laughter fade to dreams

As peace holds the lake in seams
