An Amazing Married Couple Who Beat the Odds

Reached by cellphone in Arizona in early December, Jerry Larson, a retired U.S. Marshall and tougher than a severe migraine headache, was asked about his dad, George, a former Roseau County Commissioner and a successful Roseau businessman.

The son laid it all on the line. His dad has some health problems.

George is 89, his wife Marilyn is 88, and they've been married for 72 years as of November 29, 2024.

That's some kind of a record.

Do the math. He was 17 and she was 16 when they tied the knot.

"It wasn't that uncommon back then. It's not common now," Jerry chuckled.
