Drier, warmer weather raises the threat of wildfires

 


Recent Red Flag Warnings in parts of Minnesota, along with the extended weather forecast calling for dry and warmer temperatures, are important reminders of the potential threat of wildfires in Minnesota.

“The cool, moist spring conditions are now behind us,” said Adam Munstenteiger, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources forestry supervisor in Warroad. “And while we see things partially greening up, a good amount of dead and dry material still remains on the ground.”
