Roseau - Marlene Louise Kvien passed away peacefully on August 14, 2016 at the Oak Crest Senior Living residence.

Marlene was born on August 9, 1933 in Malung Township of Roseau County, to Anna (Krzoska) and Frank Zak. She grew up and went to school in Roseau. She and Donald Kvien were married September 7, 1954 and raised five children. They moved to North Dakota where Donald worked in the oil fields, and Marlene worked at restaurants wherever Donald’s job took them.
