Roseau - Inez Francina Leverington passed away on September 6, 2016 at her home in Roseau, 14 days shy of her 93rd birthday.

Inez was born September 22, 1923 to William and Merle Montgomery on a small farm in Faulkton, S.D. The family later moved to the Pine River area. She graduated from Pine River High School in 1941, and then attended Normal Teachers Training in Brainerd.

Inez met Elwin (Bud) Leverington and they taught country school together. While Bud was gone for WWII, Inez worked at an ammunition factory and at Hormel making Spam for the troops. Inez and Bud were married on September 1...
