The Roseau eighth-grade girls were runners-up in the Pacesetter Great Four-State Championships after falling to New London-Spicer 32-23 in the finals on Sunday at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

The Wildcats capitalized on height advantage with two six-footers and one 5-foot-11 girl against the much smaller Rams.

"We struggle with taller teams," said Roseau coach Tracey Borowicz. "We have to rely on our quickness and we got some steals but not enough to offset their height. With us it usually depends on how aggressive we can be and what they (referees)are calli...
