Local girls are on winning Gopher State Team

It was a scramble for the winning girls North Team last weekend at the Schwann Super Rink in Blaine.
Coach Tom Murphy credited his entire team, which included players selected from Sections 7 and 8, for a great weekend.
"From this area, we had some Thief River players," he said and then singled out the Roseau County players - Warroad's Jen Phillips and Madison Oelkers and Roseau's Jenna Byfuglien and Ellice Murphy.
"We won the whole thing," he said.
But it wasn't easy.
They tied their first game against Team West on Friday and then were upset by Team South on Saturday morning.
