Sound of the Trumpet Concert Performing at Free Lutheran Church of Roseau

Trumpet concert with Joel Finnesgard to include a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary praise and worship music. The instrumental music leans towards easy listening, uplifting and inspirational. Joel was born in northwestern North Dakota in 1965. He was involved in the family farm and graduated from Divide County High School in 1983. He studied music two winters at Eastern Montana College in Billings, Montana and farmed with his father and brother in North Dakota for three years prior to moving to California in 1987. He moved to help with a home mission church (Victoria Community Church) in Rancho Cucamonga as a volunteer. In 1989 Joel married June (daughter of missionaries Lu and Addie Mathison). He worked in commercial construction until August 1999. Since then Sound of The Trumpet has been a full time ministry. That has included recording seven albums (“Sound of The Trumpet,” “Silver Christmas,” “Trumpet of Praise,” “Sound of Freedom,” “Trumpet of Hymns,” “Trumpet of Worship,” and most recently “Waves of Worship”), one DVD (“Soundscapes”) and over 1,000 performances throughout the United States of Canada. He has studied trumpet under the late MGM studio trumpet player, Uan Rasey, originally from Glasgow, Montana. Joel’s wife June resigned from her work as a CPA in October 2001 and now works fulltime in this ministry. Joel and June together with their children, Joy (10) and Josiah (8), enjoy sharing this ministry throughout the country. They are now sharing in concerts with Joy on the violin, mandolin, guitar and singing, Josiah on the violin, ukulele and singing and June on the cajon.

Sound of the Trumpet will be playing at the Free Lutheran Church of Roseau on May 22, 2016 at 7 p.m.
