Agassiz Swedish Heritage Society (ASHS) will hold its annual Midsommer Fest Wednesday, June 22 at the historic East Emmaus Lutheran Church at rural Kennedy. This 116-year-old church is a landmark in Kittson County.

Descendants of the founding East Emmaus members are hosting the ASHS festival to celebrate the recent painting of the church. Their aim is to raise awareness and funds for renovation so it does not fall into further disrepair. Services have not been held for many years, however, this is the second time ASHS has celebrated Midsommer Fest on the grounds in its 30-year history.
