Legion Lads defeat Warroad, 5-3

 


Jumping out to an early 3-0 lead over Warroad's Legion team in Warroad on Thursday was just half the story for Roseau American Legion Post 24.

"By some divine intervention, the lake held the rain away just long enough," said coach Josh Weckman. "It started raining just after we finished."

And did it ever rain!

But until then, the Roseau lads were downright thieves on the bases as Noah Pavek stole 4 bases, Spencer Sabourin (3), John Tangen (2) and Jonah Huglen (1).

"We kind of ran at will today," Weckman said after the game, noting that Warroad's starting catcher, Brennan Foster, is injured...
