At the Class C State Amateur Baseball Tourney, which kicked off last Friday, the Winstead Wildcats defeated the Roseau Royals, 6-0.

Player/manager Nate Voll and his Royals had been scheduled to play the game in Hutchinson, but that was a wash out.

"We ended up playing in Litchfield because Hutchinson got between 9 and 10 inches earlier in the week," he said.

Four times in the past five summers, the Royals have qualified to the Class C state tourney.

Again this year, they went one and done, and for Mr. Voll, that is his biggest disappointment. But he didn't fault his fellow players.
