In 2005, TB in cattle and deer was discovered in District 4, and persisted for six years. I was asked by the governor's administration to assist the State of Minnesota in a special assignment to represent the input of all counties affected by TB in Northwest Minnesota. From financial support which was received from the state and counties involved, I was paid through Roseau County to do this assignment, reimbursement was made for my per diems and expenses(it was over and above the normal wages and per diems).
