In their final home game of the regular season, the Rams didn't exactly ram the Pirates off the ice in the 1st period at Roseau Memorial Arena a week ago Thursday evening.

But they did score first at the 9:17 mark when Alex Verbout lit up the red lamp to give the Rams a 1-0 lead.

Less than two minutes later, Brock Heppner scored for the Pirates, and the two teams went into intermission tied at 1-1.

In the 2nd period, Cade Salentine, the Crookston goalie, got blasted but still managed to stop 18 of the 20 shots on net.
