It took a little luck, considerable initiative, and glowing recommendations for Adam Hedlund, a 2017 Roseau High School graduate, to win the Minnesota American Legion Scholarship Award that is sponsored by Diamond Sports.
He won $1,000, which will come in handy when he attends the University of Minnesota this school year.
Now, for the luck angle.
"My mom was online looking for the playoff schedule around my college orientation date when she found the American Legion scholarship application," he said last week.
