Rams crown one champ at Prowler Tourney

Detroit Lakes won the 17-team wrestling tournament at Ralph Engelstad Arena on Saturday with BGMR placing fifth and the Rams ninth.

Coach Aaron Rose gave two thumbs up to a very good showing by his wrestlers.

"They wrestled well with one champ and three third place finishers, along with Race placing sixth. So, that stands out in a very tough field," he said.

At 138, Race Knochenmus lost on an Ultimate Tie Breaker (UTB) in overtime to Bemidji's Darren Rother 8-8 in the quarterfinals.

After six minutes of regulation, the two opponents went an additional two minutes before the Bemidji wrestler...
