This young hockey lass always plays to win

At the Peewee Challenge Championships at the Bloomington Ice Gardens last weekend, Jasmine Hovda, a Roseau seventh grader who is blonde, cute and tenacious, was one of the stars for the Farmington Girls Peewee champions.

On a pair of skates, she's a dynamo and has a promising future with the Roseau Lady Rams.

But that may be a year or two away.

On Monday evening, after playing five 42-minute games against the best in the state over a three-day weekend in the Twin Cities, she was back in town practicing with the 7th grade volleyball team.
