Jasmyn Rud might one day jump out of a helicopter hovering above elephant grass or collar somebody who's jumped bail and is on the wanted list.
At 19, she's closer to becoming a bounty hunter than a factory worker or a crossing guard at an intersection.
Ms. Rud stands out.
For starters, she has two nose rings, and a preference for tattoos.
"She's a people person, a social butterfly, always trying new things, and has worked two and sometimes three jobs over the past year and a half to save up money to go on this trip," said her mother, Cortney.
