DNR Overreach

 


The DNR and Roseau River Watershed are planning to build a dike on the north and

east side of the river. The weirs would be at elevations of 1034. The dikes on the south and west side of the river are only at elevations of 1031 1/2. Building the dike would ensure that many acres of fertile farmland would flood. We have requested them to build a dike

on the south side of the river and the island that would be slightly higher than their dike. Any rain of 2" or more raises the river and it will not be able to run onto DNR land as it has for the past 100 years. The Watershed has said to build a...
