Ice Conditions Vary Greatly On Lake of the Woods

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources reported that four out of five climate stations in the state had their warmest December on record, with each station above normal by large margins. In the Twin Cities, December's temperatures topped that of the December 1877 record, easily held for 145 years. In International Falls, the climate station reported 15.8 degrees higher than normal December temperatures. In spite of December's warmer temperatures, with necessary precautions, there have been big fish caught on Lake of the Woods.
