Lance Novacek was born on May 2, 1980, in Karlstad, Minnesota. Like most 17 year olds he wasn't sure what he was going to do out of highschool. School didn't appeal to Lance and he could have gone to college for football or played junior hockey, but instead he chose to enlist in the United States Marine Corps in 1997. He was put into the Delayed Entry Program for almost 1 year until he turned 18.
