This rebranding comes under the dynamic leadership of Darrin Smedsmo, the visionary owner who has already made his mark with the successful AmericInn by Wyndham in Roseau. Smedsmo acquired the North Country Inn & Suites in 2022 and has partnered with Discover Lodging Management. Discover Lodging is a hotel management company based in Fargo, N.D. with a current portfolio of over 20 hotels in the Midwest.

Central to the rebranding is a comprehensive renovation that will touch every facet of the property. Guests can anticipate state-of-the-art amenities, modern aesthetics, and a renewed commitment to unparalleled service. The overarching theme for Norland Inn & Suites is inspired by the Hygge style – a Danish concept that embodies coziness, comfort, and well-being. This design ethos promises to create a warm, inviting atmosphere, making every guest feel right at home.
