DNR Encourages Minnesotans to learn about wetlands

 


The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is encouraging residents to learn more about the state’s wetlands habitats during May, American Wetlands Month.

American Wetlands Month was created in 1991 to draw attention to the tremendous assets of wetlands. Healthy wetlands provide habitat for fish and wildlife, protect us from floods, clean and filter water for drinking and recharge groundwater. Wetlands also protect shorelines, provide places for education and recreation, and are important to human health, well-being and the economy.
